  • Saturday, October 11, 2008 Is The Current Economy Affecting New Tech Startups? Is The Current Economy Affecting New StartupsIts clear that our economy is bad and is going really worse these days and we all are concerned about this. Large companies are pulling off existing projects, reluctant to start new ones, is this a good time to start a new technology start up? You might say NO!, but it is clear that even now new companies are being started in these days.

Recent TechCrucnh50 and DemoFall conferences have seen a lot of new start ups coming in and the interesting part is that they all are in a good shape. Thanks to the advanced technology, that helps these start ups to survive with less expenses. The fact is that they don't need much money for a tech start up.

With cloud computing gaining popularity, a majority of these tech start ups rely on this technology and can operate with much less amount of money and infrastructure cost. A good example is Amazon's EC2 [Elastic Compute Cloud], which lets small companies to make use of server and computer resources, which most of the web companies wish to have, and that too without paying much for that.

This along with new start up office complexes rowing through out the country, is helping new tech companies to survive and serve the global audience at a cost which is much less than the amount dot com start ups blow off earlier. This, actually is a great thing as these companies keeps the technology live and keeps the tech world evolving. Compare these large companies, who really are interested in acquiring these small start ups and making it big.

Even though there is a risk of relying on these infrastructure platforms, which like the cloud computing , still in its early childhood, this is a good sign to a lot of innovators with creative ideas to come front and start their own companies, thus providing lifeblood to the IT field.
